This colouring book celebrates the ancient tradition of whaling. If you thought whaling was a practice from the times of moby dick, let us tell you it’s still very much alive, mostly in Norway, Iceland and Japan. People there like to eat the delicious fatty whale meat while drinking sake and vodka. These cetaceans are highly intelligent. They have a very complex communication system, including sound patterns that identify them as individuals, and they form very strong bonds with members of their family and social groups. There must be something very manly and heroic about killing these defensless giants. The sense of achievement it must give to a be on a big ship full of sharp harpoons that explode in their flesh causing hours and hours of excruciating pain. As they die, their family and their calfs watch on while they are dragged away, in the sea tainted crimson-red with their blood. And just imagine the satisfaction of the whalers when they get a double catch: pregnant mums. Unfortunately it does happen quite regularly. We hope you enjoy this book and we hope you like the colour red, which is the only colour you’ll need – red is the only colour you’ll see when these gentle giants are killed.
